State House Officer Gladwel Chimtande 51 has used powers to Register his second wedding with a 23-year-old girl Marriam Phiri at Registrar Generals offices, contrary to the rules.
According to the inside sources, who opt for anonymity, the office of the registrar does not allow one person to register two partners.
He said chimtande told the registrar’s office that he left his wife 15 years ago.
He said the wife came to oppose the wedding in the company of her lawyer but several officials from statehouse stormed the office with threatening calls.
“The marriage certificate was not granted but the couple proceeded with the reception of the wedding, “said anon.
According to the inside sources, Chimtande wife was represented by Emmanuel Chapo as legal personnel on the matter.
In an interview, Chapo dismissed having an idea on the case.
“I do not know anything about the matter,”said Chapo.
