BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-SycaMore Consult Limited, a leading organisation in consultation in the country had equipped local companies with project management skills through a 5 day training that took place at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre.
SycaMore Managing Director Audrey Mwala said the training is very crucial in the growth local companies across the country as it will help them to successfully execute their various project.
According to Mwala, most companies in the country lack of enough knowledge on managing projects which has contributed to poor and uncompleted projects in many organisations.
Speaking in an interview, Mwala disclosed that majority of the companies in the country are facing a number of challenges when it comes to project management planning which is the result of lack of proper skills on how they can handle projects and deliver according to their plan.
Mwala said some companies in the country rely much on unskillful people to make their projects management, a development which has contributed to failure in several projects hence the training was organized to equip the companies with skills.
Some of the skills that the participants were equipped with included project management steps, principles, risks and all the key elements that will deliver successful projects.
“Projects Management is very crucial in the growth of any organization but to achieve that and make sure there is sustainability, organizations needs to be innovative enough by coming up with new project ideas that will assist them to grow and avoid being satisfied with where they are because they might be surprised after being overtaken with others.
“We want the organizations to continuously start improving themselves so that they should remain relevant and better,” said Mwala.
One of the participants Boniface Wizilamu who is the Electricity Generation Company (EGENCO) Projects Mechanical Engineer commended SycaMore Consult for organizing the training which he said will help them to benefit a lot as they will be equipped with new technique.
He added that in Projects Management, people use tools which are currently developed day by day such as the training which will help them to be more knowledgeable and assist to improve their organizations once they implement the skills.
“Sometimes we lack new ideas in our fields and it out expectation that we’ll benefit much by the end of this training as you know that things keeps changing nowadays as such it is ideal to have such kind of time where we can get new skills,” said Wizilamu.
Among other companies that are attending the training include, Old Mutual, MyBucks and others.
