The internet is home to plenty of unusual things and if you’re one of the people who finds joy in the utterly bizarre it can feel like a playground. There is perhaps no corner of the internet where human imagination runs quite as wild as the online gaming sector. Thousands of programmers have come up with plenty of wacky ideas between them and these are just a handful of the thousands there are to discover. Withy this in mind, make yourself comfy and prepare to get lost in a world of truly unusual games.
Too Many Online Slot Games to Name
If a wide selection of weird and wonderful settings is what you look for in a game then online slot games could be a wise choice. Whether you want to peek into the future with a hillbilly frog, or play alongside a mysterious white lion, there is a wide range of slots games across different stakes. If the previously mentioned two games sound like they might be right up your street, then look out for Frog of Fortune and Lion Storm. Slot games are the perfect medium for developers to really go wild thanks to their simple structure.
Although slot games naturally differ, generally speaking the player presses a button and waits for the reels to stop spinning. Bonus cards, special combinations and stakes all have an impact on the game, but the biggest differences come in the form of graphics. Kooky characters, bizarre backdrops and weird worlds all come together to make this genre of game one of the most unusual out there.
Aether Online
Sometimes a game comes along that’s so strange it gets a category all of its own. This is the case for Aether. The premise of the game is so odd that everything else about the game becomes secondary. In Aether you can only move by swinging around from a monster’s tongue. Whilst swinging there are a selection of tasks, which by comparison are pretty run of the mill, that you must complete. The levels of the game all invite you to solve puzzles on the numerous planets that you and the strange octopus-monster visit. Once you solve a puzzle, the planet is brought from monochrome to glorious technicolor and your quest starts once more, on a new black and white planet.
The developers had originally imagined this game would be played on the Nintendo Wii, but it seems that although the game has a strong cult following, a lot of players just couldn’t get over its strangeness.
Transformice

Considering how familiar we are with most of the country’s most popular games, it’s strange to think that one of the most popular games in the world on Steam could be… Transformice. The premise of the game is both simple, but pointless; you must collect cheese. Players log on and play as a mouse, who’s sole objective is to collect cheese. Once you have the cheese you can swap it for more cheese and use that cheese to buy things such as more mice, more cheese or unlock a map. I
n order to get to the end of most of the maps on the game you will need the help of a mouse Shaman who, you guessed it, you can pay in cheese. The mouse shaman has the ability to conjure magical items to aid your mice in their quest for cheese. At the end of each map your mice enter the mouse hole and appear ready for more, in a whole new map.
Farm For Your Life
A final strange addition to the list is Farm For Your Life. It was crystal clear that the developers here were looking to cash in on two of the most played game types around nowadays; farm sims and zombie shooters. However, it is puzzling to think that not once did anyone consider that maybe, just maybe, the two genres wouldn’t quite work hand in hand. If you fancy some bizarre gameplay then you’ll begin as a cute anime character who must go about the farm performing chores. Cutting grass, growing vegetables and looking after animals. So far, so normal. However, occasionally you might perform the wrong task, or the sun might set, or something totally normal will happen and a whole hoard of zombies will set off after you.
If you aren’t too bothered about long lasting gameplay and just want to feel totally absorbed in the utterly bizarre for half an hour, then perhaps Farm For Your Life could be fun?
