Surestream FC board chairperson Chris Pitman has said he could not accept the resignation of Technical Director Peter Mponda because he is the driving force of the team.
Pitman said this in the wake of Mponda’s decision to resign.
“I think Peter said all that stuff out of frustration. It was done in the heat of the moment. Peter is Surestream, the institution is where it is now largely because of him and while there might be some misunderstandings, it shouldn’t have reached that point,” Pitman said.
“I should believe there was communication breakdown.”
Mponda confirmed talking to Pitman saying he has rescinded his intention to quit the Surestream which made him to retire early from football to become the Technical Director.
“I am not going into details but I can confirm that I had fruitful discussion with Chris and the issue is being looked into,” he said.
The former Flames captain announced his resignation citing internal politics at the club as cause.
