U.S Ambassador to Malawi Virginia Palmer will swear in 41 Peace Corps Volunteers

Lilongwe, May 2: A group of 41 Environmental and Health Peace Corps Volunteers will be sworn in Thursday May 7, 2015 in Lilongwe.

According to a press release made available to media by the US Embassy in Lilongwe, the swearing in ceremony will take place at the residence of the United States Ambassador.

 

The press release said the group arrived in the country on March 6, 2015 and they are currently undergoing nine weeks of Community Based-Integrated Training at Senior Group Village Headman Chisazima in Kasungu.

Currently 123 volunteers are working in the country in education, environment and health and more than 2, 800 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in the county since the establishment of the program in 1963.
