BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-UTM spokesperson Felix Njawala has rubbished assertions that the party lacks structures, saying such claims are baseless.
Speaking in Blantyre during a press briefing, Njawala pointed out that UTM’s performance in the 2019 elections, where it scooped millions of votes, surpassing other parties with established structures, is proof of its strength.
Njawala urged Malawians to take the forthcoming elections seriously and make the most of this “golden opportunity” by voting for UTM’s presidential candidate, Dr. Dalitso Kabambe.
Kabambe, a renowned economist and former Reserve Bank Governor, has been leading the party since his landslide victory in the UTM presidential elections earlier this year, garnering 636 votes out of 727 votes.
Njawala expressed confidence in Dr. Kabambe’s leadership and vision for Malawi, emphasizing that the party’s agenda for economic reform and development resonates with the aspirations of many Malawians.
With UTM’s strong showing in previous elections and Dr. Kabambe’s credentials as a seasoned economist, Njawala believes the party has a strong chance of winning the forthcoming elections and bringing about the much-needed change in the country.
