HARARE-(MaraviPost)-The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has disclosed that one of its members Moreblessing Ali (47) has been abducted by suspected Zanu PF activists.

This was revealed in a statement issued by CCC on Monday, May 30 signed by the movement’s spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere.

Moreblessing Ali said to be abducted

According to the statement, Ali was reportedly seized and forcibly shoved into a motor vehicle by Pius Jamba, who is a member of Zanu PF on the night of May 24, 2022.

Police report was made on May, 25 at Makoni Police Station under RRB number 5048384 by CCC and a team had been deployed to handle the situation and assist with investigations, Newsday reported.

However, recent report indicated that preliminary investigations have established that Ali disappeared with a former lover, Pius Jamba, who abducted her for ending their relationship abruptly after he had spent so much money on her.

In his remarks, Zanu PF party spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa has asked CCC to allow law enforcers to deal with the matter.

He added that criminals in the country have been using the party’s name to commit crimes with the aim of bring the name of the party into disrepute.

Zimbabwe’s security services have been accused of a series of abductions of opposition supporters, which the main opposition Citizens Coalition for Change fears will get worse ahead of next year’s elections.
