Abida-Mia-cheering-the-the-needy-mother-giving-birth-to-quadriplets

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Wife to the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) First Vice President, Madame Abida Sidik Mia, on Saturday visited two mothers at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) who were blessed with quadriplets and triplets respectively.
During the visit, Madame Mia presented assorted baby disposables and other assorted items valued at over half million Kwacha to the 35 yrs old Joyce Banda, from Salima district who had given birth to quadriplets.
Mia also presented MK50,000 cash to Patuma Juma from area 24 in Lilongwe city who had given birth to triplets.
In her remarks, Mia who is widely known for charitable works said, she had visited the Salima woman on behalf of the MCP First Lady, Madame Monica Chakwera, who was touched with the news of the needy mother giving birth to quadriplets.

“Upon hearing about the news about a mother who was needy and had given birth to quadriplets, Madame Chakwera was deeply touched,” said Mia and continued: “Since she is busy with other engagements, she therefore sent me to visit the mother on her behalf.”
Upon hearing that another woman, Patuma Juma from area 24 in the city had given birth to triplets, Mia said she was personally touched and also thought of cheering her.
After cheering her, she presented the mother of the triplets with a cash gift of MK50,000.
Commenting on the goodwill visit and kind donations, Senior Nursing Officer at KCH, Flora Khonje commended Mia for the kind gesture saying, “the donation would make a big difference to both needy women at such time of need.”
It was learnt during the visit that, out of the quadriplets, Banda had lost one baby.
Madam Mia who is also a top notch politician as well as a successful lady enterprenuer, was recently presented with an award in special recognition for her pivotal role in empowering women across the country.
