It has come to my attention that the article we published a few days ago regarding the turmoil in the MCP has some problematic references specifically in regards to Mr Morgan Tembo playing a part in destabilizing the Party.
While we would like to stand by the reporting by our very reliable reporter it is troubling that in this instance we did not verify the allegations as is our custom and rigid practice. Mr Morgan Tembo is not in hiding and could have been easily been contacted directly or through staff or close relatives.
As I have learned a lot since then I came to realize that Mr Morgan Tembo has never been involved in Malawi Politics and has no plans in future now that he is retired to be involved in Malawi Politics.
We have since then un-published the article and sincerely apologized to Mr. Morgan Tembo through a family member to any harm, discomfort this might have caused him and those close to him.
