Acting Evaluator General for the Independent Evaluation Development department
The African Development Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen ROT-MÜNSTERMANN as Acting Evaluator General for the Independent Evaluation Development Department of the African Development Bank, effective from 3 November 2020.
Mrs. Karen ROT-MÜNSTERMANN, a Dutch citizen, is currently the Manager of the Knowledge Management, Outreach, and Capacity Development Division of the Independent Evaluation Development Department.
Before joining the Bank in 2009, Karen was a Senior Policy Advisor at the Dutch Ministry of Finance (Treasury, Foreign Financial Relations Department). She joined the Independent Evaluation Development Department of the African Development Bank in June 2014, prior to which she worked in the Bank’s Resource Mobilization Department where she was responsible for the three-yearly replenishment process of the African Development Fund and the allocation of the Fund’s resources to African countries. Karen served as Acting Director for the Independent Evaluation Development Department, from September 2018 to August 2019.
With more than 20 years of experience in international relations and development, Karen has a track-record of managing constructive working relationships, high level dialogue. She has demonstrable ability for smooth coordination of activities with Bank staff and management, representatives of donor countries, multilateral development banks, as well as other stakeholders on a wide range of policies, strategies, and issues related to the African Development Fund and the Bank’s operations.
Karen holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, University of Leiden, The Netherlands. She also holds a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
Commenting on her appointment, the President of the African Development Bank Group, Dr. Adesina said: “The work of the Independent Evaluation Development Department is critical for the Bank as it guides the Bank’s operations for learning and effectiveness. With her wide experience in the Bank, Karen has the technical, managerial and people management skills to be able to foster and strengthen the Bank’s work on independent evaluation”.
