LILONGWE (MaraviPost)— Zambians went to polls on 20th and 21st January 2015 to elect a new president following the death of late President Michael Sata. During the build up to the elections, popular Malawi prophets were on it, outdoing each other on who will win the presidential by-elections.
According to one Prophet Shepherd Bushiri; he said he saw Edgar Lungu winning the elections on condition that he reconciles with the ‘white man’ and failure to do so, Bushiri said Hakainde Hichilema popularly known as HH would carry the day. So according to events in Zambia, it means Edgar Lungu will win the elections; thus according to Prophet Major General Shepherd Bushiri for Lungu truly made peace with the acting President Guy Scott and were spotted together in several occasions campaigning —a clear gesture that Lungu heed to the condition as put forward by the man of God Prophet Bushiri.
But all eyes are now on Prophet Austin Liabunya. He is described as a controversial Prophet for when he opens his mouth; he shakes the authorities and they feel the heat.
Prophet Liabunya has a proven track record of making accurate controversial Prophecies. Known for making national Prophecies in Malawi; Liabunya prophesied the controversial ascendency to the Malawi presidency of now President Peter Mutharika—younger brother to late Malawi President Bingu Wa Mutharika. The Prophecy was made in 2012—almost two years before 20th May, 2014 Malawi’s tripartite elections and the accuracy of his Prophecy shocked Malawians.
So when Prophet Austin Liabunya speaks; you just don’t ignore what he has said. All you do is to wait for Prophecy to either be fulfilled or not.
And this is the time millions of people across the globe have been waiting for, to either witness yet another fulfillment of a controversial Prophecy or to now write him off.
According to Prophet Liabunya, he said in clear terms that leader of the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Hakainde Hichilema will win the presidential by-elections.
“What will happen in Zambia during the coming elections is similar to what happened in Malawi during her elections.
“There will be fake alliances among political parties,” said the Prophet when delivering this Prophecy about Zambia during a night of cross-over to 2015 service which was conducted in Area 23 at Music cross-roads tent in Malawi’s administrative capital Lilongwe.
“They will not win; God will scatter them by fire,” charged the Prophet referring to Hakainde Hichilema’s political opponents.
Describing HH whom he tipped that he will emerge the winner; the Prophet said “the young man must be clever.”
“I see stealing of votes from him. He simply needs prayer so that this issue of stealing votes from him should not happen OTHERWISE GOD has said he will win…and if they will steal his votes; there will be chaos again just like it was with Malawi,” said the man of God to a confused congregation.
Of course he also made controversial prophecies about Malawi and Zimbabwe but let’s reserve these topics for another day.
According to Liabunya; HH will win come what may as on the polling day—thus on 20th January, 2015—the man of God dropped a prayer on his facebook page where he prayed against any form of rigging whatsoever and after he just said Amen, he was so confident that God had listened and had also answered his prayer.
This was what the man of God Posted:
“MY PRAYER FOR THE ZAMBIAN ELECTIONS:
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, that as your children go to cast their votes, you will guide them by Spirit to vote for people you have already chosen according to your tender mercies that endure forever!
As they cast their votes, I come against any form of rigging, accidents, fear, delays, and any kind of corruption in Jesus name!
And I expose any planned acts of unfairness during and after the process in Jesus name!
And I stand in my capacity as your PROPHET; a territorial commander, that the elections will be free and fair.
In Jesus name I pray!
Thank you for answering my prayer!
Amen!.”
ANALYSIS
Has Liabunya’s Prophecy started been fulfilled? The answer to this question is yes/No.
Yes in the sense that he mentioned that the election in Zambia would be similar to what Malawi had on 20th May 2014.
— Already, the situation in Zambia is tensed up among the political players; this is also exactly what happened in Malawi. The election was unusual; the stakes were high.
— Prior to elections, the then opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) supporters in Malawi impounded a truck from South Africa alleging that it had carried already marked ballot papers in favour of the ruling Peoples Party (PP) of Joyce Banda—it turn out that it was false and in Zambia we also read in the papers that UPND cadres also impounded a truck which they alleged that it had carried already marked ballot papers for the ruling party—Whether their allegation was true; we are not sure.
— Of course Malawi voted on 20th May but the interesting point to make is that voting also extended to 21st May in few areas where people did not vote on 20th May due to chaos that erupted when people were about to start voting. There was delay of voting materials by the electoral body and this angered voters who had been waiting since morning to cast vote. In Zambia, we have also heard that the electoral body in allowed people in some few areas to vote on 21st January for they failed to vote on the set date due bad weather condition.
— In Malawi, there was literally drama at the National tally centre at COMESA’s hall in Blantyre as political party representatives were busy churning out propaganda to convince the Malawi nation that they were doing fine in the election or that there has been massive irregularities warranting vote re-count and/or even calling for fresh elections. In Zambia, we saw HH today storming the national tally centre at Mulungushi international conference centre trying to pump sense into the electoral body’s officials to temporarily stop announcing official results of the elections until others who were still voting had finished casting their ballot papers. Suffice to say that in Malawi; radio stations were allowed to continue airing results when people in the said few areas were still voting.
On a lighter note; we are currently enjoying PF Media team guru Mr Emmanuel Mwamba with his propaganda tailored updates in favour of his ruling Party while UPND officials are also busy issuing press-releases. Here in Malawi, we also enjoyed refutals, panic and propaganda from the then ruling party deputy spokesperson Ken Msonda when the other opposition party official spokespersons in the name of Nicholas Dausi of DPP, Jessie Kabwira OF MCP and Ken Ndanga of UDF were also doing their best to make their voices heard to the nation.
— However here in Malawi; the issue went as far as our Courts because other political parties wanted vote recount and the then incumbent President Joyce Banda even proposed to remain in power for 90 days to facilitate fresh elections but it took one person Judge Kenyatta Nyirenda to deliver a landmark ruling late at night ordering the electoral body to announce the winner of the election as per the laws of the land guiding elections. Malawi electoral commission (MEC) Chairperson Justice Maxon Mbendera who is also witnessing the drama at Zambia Electoral body’s national tally centre at Mulungushi international conference centre literally cried on Camera before announcing the winner of the elections in the middle of the night. We just hope that no ZEC official will shed tears that side because he/she is overwhelmed!
— By the way, Malawians knew their new President Peter Mutharika after struggles and in the middle of the night marking a complete fulfillment of Prophet Austin Liabunya’s 2012 Prophecy about Malawi. In Zambia, we are to see who the Zambia Electoral Commission (ZEC) will announce as the official and legitimate winner of the election when all is said and done.
So without necessary beating about the bush; these are what we have noted as the similarities between the two elections. So if you ask if part of Liabunya’s prophecy has come to pass; then, we think sane individuals can agree with us that the prophet was spot on.
WHERE THE PROPHECY SEEM NOT TO COME TO PASS
At the moment; Candidate Edgar Lungu of PF is leading with Hakainde Hichilema trailing. And following these preliminary results, some people are rushing to say that Edgar Lungu is more likely to win the election with others even concluding that he has won the election. Even People on the social media in Malawi have as usual intensified insults on Prophet Liabunya saying that his Prophecy will not come to pass as Edgar Lungu is poised to win the elections, hands down.
Of-course we understand what is on stake with Prophet Liabunya’s Prophecy in Malawi for its fulfillment will heavily shake Malawi’s current administration as the man of God told them to start packing as an opposition leader belonging to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) will take over the country’s leadership before or in 2019 when the country goes to polls.
So if Liabunya’s Prophecy will not come to pass; then the administrations propaganda boys and cheer-leaders will afford a sigh of relief and will obviously start convincing themselves that they will indeed rule Malawi till 2024 and then to 2060 as how they boast. But the fulfillment of this Prophecy in Zambia will obviously humble many in Malawi and of course excite those who were tipped to take over leadership of the country in 2019.
So for Malawians, the stakes are high in this Zambian elections as its results will make Liabunya stamp his authority as a reliable true man of God.
Will Liabunya’s Prophecy going to be fulfilled?
During this defining moment and if you ask Liabunya for his take following these results which are indicating that Lungu is leading; Prophet Austin Liabunya in his ever jovial mood would more likely tell you not to disturb him as he tell you that he was in his closet but perhaps not to disappoint you; he would more likely just listen to your question and give you a short answer and perhaps tell you to read a verse like Exodus 14 Vs 14 where it says according to Complete Jewish Bible that “ADONAI will do battle for you. Just calm yourselves down!”
