LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The defending champions of the Airtel Top 8 Nyasa Big Bullets FC on Saturday made three Airtel Calls from the 100 minutes voice bundle to 2017 and 2019 champions Silver Strikers FC at Kamuzu Stadium.
Bullets scored through Gomezgani Chirwa at 20th minute of the first half.
Silver tried their level best to level the matters but all efforts went in vain until Newton Nyirenda blew his whistle for recess.
After the recess, both teams started aggressively to get more goals as the hosts wanted to extend the lead while for the visitors wanted an equalizer.
Ernest Petro extended Bullets’ lead at 55th minute after a defensive mistake from Silver Strikers FC in the penalty box.
After sensing danger, Silver Strikers FC gaffer Leo Mpulula, made some changes at 57th minute, taking off Zebron Kalima and Patrick Macheso for Duncan Nyoni and Stain Davie.
The former TN Stars FC attacker Davie did not wait for 5 minutes in the field of play to score the precious goal for the central bankers to revive their dreams of coming back into the game.
However, Stain Davie’s call was quickly replied by Patrick Mwaungulu at 64th minute, to make it Bullets FC 3-1 Silver Strikers FC.
Silver Strikers FC failed to contain pace from their opponent, their attackers also lacked marksmanship and composure as they missed chances they created.
The goalkeeper Emmance Nyirenda also let the team down with his misjudgment decisions.
Patrick Mwaungulu was later voted man of the match of Airtel Zamadolo first semifinal of the 2022.
In a post match interviews Kalisto Pasuwa said, hailed his boys for the victory saying they started the game on a slow note and gave their opponent much positions to move comfortably.
“We were not that much offensive, the approach was low but the good part is that we scored a goal that stabilized everything, in the second half after talking to the boys we came so offensive and scored two more goals. We just need to concentrate to the game as we have been conceding many goals this season.
“We will prepare well for any team that joins us in the final either Blue Eagles FC or Wanderers,Technical panel and players surely knows that each team playing against us,wants to beat us”, Pasuwa said.
The Blantyre giants have so far scored 11 goals and conceded 2 in the campaign.
Nyasa Big Bullets FC have already won TNM Superleague and FDH Bank cup this season, they are looking forward for a tremble.
The People’s team will meet the winner between Blue Eagles FC who are playing home away from home at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC.
Meanwhile Sports analyst Charles Nyirenda has attributed Silver Strikers’ poor show for the recent past to the cracks in the management and internal politics.
“The team was doing well years back, in 2019 finished as runners up to Bullets in TNM Superleague, last season they descended to 5th that shows that their graph is not good”,
“Money is never a solution of the problems but it can be part of it. Silver must be asking themselves as what have they been doing in previous years as they performed well and what is wrong with how they are doing now.
“The team also lacked patience when they sacked Daniel Kabwe from Zambia, the guy who won them two cups”, said Nyirenda.
