Chakwera elevates Thyolo’ sub-TA Maganiza to TA

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera has promoted Sub-Traditional Authority Maganiza of Thyolo to Traditional Authority (T/A), effective June 17, 2025.

The elevation was announced in a letter by District Commissioner Hudson Kuphanga, bringing the total number of Senior Chiefs in the district to nine, 22 Traditional Authorities (T.As) , and four Sub-Traditional Authorities.

The newly elevated TA, Miss Everest Waya Kapalepale, assumes a key role in the district’s traditional leadership structure.

This development is expected to enhance the administration of traditional affairs and promote cultural heritage in the region.
