Chakwera graces 2025 Umuthetho Cultural Festival celebrating Ngoni Heritage in Mzimba

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera is today attending the 2025 Umuthetho Cultural Festival at the Hora Heritage Centre in Mzimba.

Earlier in the day, the President took time to appreciate the various pavilions mounted at the Hora Heritage Centre.

Among the highlights were demonstrations by the Ngoni people showcasing traditional Ngoni foods, regalia, and kitchen materials.

This year’s Umuthetho ceremony is themed “Cultural Diversity, the foundation for Peaceful Co-existence and Development.”

The festival brings together communities to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Ngoni people while promoting unity and development through diversity.

President Chakwera’s presence underscores the government’s commitment to preserving cultural traditions as a vital pillar for national peace and progress.

The Umuthetho Cultural Festival continues to be a significant event for Mzimba, drawing visitors and dignitaries alike to honor the history and customs of the region.
