LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera i this morning at Silver Stadium in the City of Lilongwe, where he is expected to preside over the official installation of Right Reverend Canon Daniel Kalonga, as the 4th Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi.
The consecration mass will be led by the Most Reverend Dr. Albert Chama, Archbishop of the Province of Central Africa.
Bishop Kalonga was born on 7th May 1980, in Buzi Chimbwanda Village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Malenga in Ntchisi.
He becomes the fourth bishop to lead the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi.
Kalonga was elected in succession to the Rt. Rev. Francis Kaulanda on 4th April 2025, during an Elective Assembly held at St Thomas Church in Lilongwe.
Prior to his election, Kalonga served as the Diocese’s Vicar General and as Rector of St Thomas Church in Lilongwe.
The Malawi leader has been joined by several top government officials and other dignitaries.
