LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Blue Eagles football club returns to the elite league action after a three-weeks-break as they date Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos away at Dedza Stadium this afternoon.
The cops who have tremendously improved in their recent assignments, aim to return with a bang as per their head coach Derklek Msakakuona.
However, the match promises to be a crucial for both sides as they look for better positions on the table.
The Policemen lastly played their Super League match on 21st June when they thumped MAFCO 2-1 at home Nankhaka Stadium with goals courtesy of Bennet Konyo and Levison Mnyenyembe. Definitely, they will be wanting to build from this home victory.
On the other hand, Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos are coming from a 2-0 away defeat to MAFCO at Chitowe-Dwangwa last weekend hence they wish to recover from the damage they suffered from another military side.
Speaking in a pre-match interview, Blue Eagles head coach Derklek Msakakuona acknowledged it will be a tough match against the unpredictable Dedza Dynamos.
“It will be a tough match especially that they are coming from a 2-0 defeat away in Dwangwa and they have all that advantage playing at home as a team. Nevertheless, we are prepared and geared for the battle and our aim is to win so that we further push upwards on the table.
“We have been creating chances and of course defending well and I can rate it as a 50/50 though we need to polish up in terms of scoring. It has never been easy playing Dedza either home or away so indeed it will be a tough game but the way the boys have done in training I’m upbeat we will get a good result,” Msakakuona added.
His counterpart, Dedza Dynamos assistant coach Bruno Milanzie says they have rectified all areas which had shortfalls and ready for the battle against the cops.
“We have prepared well though we are coming from a 2-0 away defeat, looking forward to recover from those wounds. This is our last home game this round hence we need to give our supporters what they have been lacking”, Milanzie said.
Head-to-head the two sides have met three times in which either side won one game with the other match ended in a draw. Dedza held Eagles to 2-2 away at Nankhaka Stadium on 13th May 2023, Dedza went on to defeat the Cops 2-1 at Dedza on 8th September 2023. Eagles however, registered a remarkable 4-2 win on 23rd September 2022.
