Cyclone Freddy response: Sulom donates MK19m relief items to survivors

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) on Sunday, April 2, 2023 received assorted items from Super League of Malawi (SULOM) worth MK19 million as a donation towards Cyclone Freddy survivors.

In the event that took place in the Commercial City Blantyre, Fredson Chikuse DoDMA Deputy Director of Risk reduction hailed SULOM for the timely gesture,saying the support would play a great role in alleviating the suffering of the people who survived the devastating floods.

In his speech during the handing over ceremony, SULOM President, Fleetwood Haiya, praised 16 Super League clubs, Into Sports Limited and Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC) amongst other stakeholders for their support towards the initiative.

The donated items including maize flour, rice, Likuni Phala, sugar, salt, soya pieces, cooking oil, soap and body lotion.
