Dausi: Govt did not orchestrate Fr. Mulomole robbery

Minister of Information and Communications Technology who also doubles as Government spokesperson Nicholas Harry Dausi has distanced government from allegations of involvement in the robbery of Father Augustine Mulomole’s office at zomba Diocese Research and development Offices in Zomba.

The robbers went away with K2.5 million in cash, computers and other office equipment.

In a press release released on Monday Dausi said government distances itself from the attempts by some media houses to blame government over the “regrettable robbery act”.

“Government wishes to distance itself from attempts by some sections of the media to blame it for the regrettable robbery act into the offices of father Augustine Mulomole at the Zoma Diocese Research and Development Offices,” Dausi said in the press release.

He also said that it was “unfair” to blame the incident on government saying that the DPP-led government does not believe in using violence.

He further said that government sympathizes with both Father Mulomole and the Catholic Church.

This robbery comes barely days after Public Affairs Committee (PAC) to which Father Mulomole is a member released a press release critical of the DPP government.
