DPP Boosted in Karonga as Business tycoons join the party following the good fortunes of the Kwacha

KARONGA, (MaraviPost iReport): The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has now started growing the tap roots in Karonga the northern part of Malawi as number of residents including business tycoons in the district are flocking to the party following the recent report that the Kwacha has recovered.

Speaking in an interview with The Maravi Post, one of the renown business tycoon Munga Mwambande who is also the owner of Mwambande investments described the party’s ideology on the country’s economy as a the only hope for Malawians.

 

According to Mwambande, the recent Kwacha recovery is part of the party’s manifestation that it will bail out problems faced by the country.

“Of course I have now join the ruling DPP, you know I have been inactive in politics for sometimes not because I didn’t want but the bad ideology of political parties we had however, with the current leadership of DPP under the President Peter Muthalika I have decide to join,” said Mwambande.          

“Nobody has force me apart from the Kwacha recovery. As a business man it is part of saying thanks to the country’s President especially for his effort to improve the economy and as I am talking our business are now performing better,” added Mwambande.

He therefore said “what Malawians should learn is to thank and support any person or leader who is doing well apart from castigation.”

In his remarks, the party’s deputy regional governor in the north Smart Kayira said “the door is open for everyone who is willing to join the party. This is also showing that coming 2019 the party will be strong and win number of positions such as Member of Parliament and councilors.”

Mwambande is well known business tycoon who is assisting a lot of development projects, organizations, churches, hospital, as well as individuals in mentioning a few and has number of followers.

Some of the people join the party include Wavisanga Sulungwe who was the United Democratic Front (UDF) MP candidate on 2014 tripartite elections and Lenzo Kiyombo the owner of Lenzo Produce.
