FAMA,MTC join forces to promote Malawi

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost )-The Film Association of Malawi (FAMA) and the Malawi Tourism Council (MTC) on Tuesday entered into a partnership to bolster both the film and tourism sectors.

The partnership outlines a collaborative effort to leverage the power of film to promote Malawi as a tourist destination.

It will see FAMA filmmakers creating content showcasing Malawi’s attractions, while the MTC will provide complimentary access to hotels and tourist sites as filming locations.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, FAMA President Dorothy Kingston hailed the partnership as a significant step forward for both industries, emphasizing their mutual interdependence for growth.

“Recognizing the potential synergy, this collaboration will unlock opportunities for filmmakers while simultaneously promoting Malawi as a travel destination,” said Kingston.

On her part,MTC Executive Director Memory Mumba Kamthunzi highlighted the potential for tourism stakeholders to utilize the film industry to market their offerings.
