BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Flames coach Kalisto Pasuwa has dismissed allegations of favoring FCB Nyasa Big Bullets players in the national team selection.
Speaking to the media at Mpira Village in Blantyre, Pasuwa emphasized that he is a professional coach and his background has no influence on his selection decisions.
The presence of several Bullets players in the Flames squad has raised eyebrows, with some speculating that Pasuwa’s association with the club may be a factor.
However, Pasuwa attributed the representation to a combination of talent, stating that the players have demonstrated their skills and abilities.
Pasuwa also addressed the team’s performance in the recent COSAFA Cup, noting that scoring goals is an art and the team struggled with it.
“Scoring is an art, and we struggled with it,” he said, adding that,”We will work on improving our finishing in future matches.”
Regarding the exclusion of certain players, including Lloyd Aaron, Nickson Mwase, and Alick Lungu, Pasuwa explained that it was an opportunity for other players to shine.
“Excluding some players gives others a chance to prove themselves,” he said.
Pasuwa’s comments come as the Flames continue to prepare for upcoming matches, with a focus on improving their performance and achieving their goals.
The coach’s commitment to selecting the best players for the team, regardless of their club affiliation, will be crucial in determining the team’s success.
