Happy 65th Birthday to Former Malawi President Joyce Banda

Joyce Hilda Banda (née Mtila; born 12 April 1950) Former Malawi President is celebrating her 65th birthday today somewhere in the world.

Former President Joyce Banda left Malawi soon after losing the May 20th 2014 Elections to Peter Mutharika and has not set foot in the country ever since. There have been many speculations as to her absence from the country.

 

Her supporters like Ken Msonda have said the Mutharika government should put on record that Joyce Banda will return home after she is done with her Joyce Banda Foundation International (JBFI) engagements abroad.

Recently she invited PP leaders and supporters to South Africa to discuss party strategy the details of which have not yet been divulged. PP publicity secretary Ken Msonda said the party shall issue a statement regarding the networking meeting agenda the members had with the former State President soon.

Joyce Banda took office as president following the sudden death of President Bingu WA Mutharika. She was Malawi’s fourth presidentand its first female president. Before becoming president, she served as the country’s first female vice-president.
