KASUNGU-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi police in Kasungu, are keeping in custody a 26-year old teacher for allegedly murdering his head teacher’s son.
Kasungu Police station spokesperson Edna Mzingwitsa, identified the suspect as Edwin Chaseta, a primary school teacher at Mkanakhothi, while the deceased was 21-Year old William Mwandira.
Mzingwitsa told The Maravi Post that the suspect committed the crime on Sunday at around 1600 hours, at Mkanakhothi Trading Centre in the district; this was after the suspect was annoyed with the presence of the deceased at a bar.
The suspect thereafter kicked at late Mwandira’s beer bottle. Eventually, a quarrel ensued between the two, but it was settled by some teachers who were also in the bar.

“The deceased and Mr. Mike Kanyika, who is also a teacher at Mkanakhothi Primary School, left the bar together for their houses.
