LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Police at Lingadzi in Lilongwe are keeping in custody 38-year-old Henry Machilika on allegation that he sodomized a 21-year-old man.
According to Lingadzi police station publicist Salomy Zgambo the offence is contrary to Section 153 (a) of the Penal Code.
Zgambo said the incident took place between the night of April 12 to April 14 2020 at Area 49, Gulliver in Lilongwe.
“It is reported that the victim was working at a certain restaurant close to Sheeds Bar and the suspect is said to be a regular customer at the bar.
It is alleged that on the material day, as usual the accused person went to the restaurant and bought food worth K1 200 and thereafter, told the victim that he like him a lot,” she said.
The police publicist added that the suspect is alleged to have asked the victim if he had a phone which the victim denied.
“When the victim responded that he had no phone, the suspect told the victim that he had a small phone at home which he is willing to give it to him.
“At around 2100 hours after he had finished his food, the suspect asked the victim to accompany him to his house so that he could give him the phone he promised,” she added.
Zgambo adds, “Upon reaching home, the victim was offered a seat at seating room while the accused proceeded to the bedroom and to the victim’s surprise, the accused person came out of the bedroom with birth suit.
‘The suspect told the victim how the house was built before dragging him to his bedroom and while in bedroom, the suspect told the victim to undress, alleging that any person who enters his bedroom is to be sodomized”.
The victim forcibly complied and the accused took his phone and started showing the victim pornographic videos and thereafter, he started sodomizing the victim where he carnaly known the victim against order of nature for two times.
“In the following morning, Machilika asked the victim to sleep with him again but he refused and then Machilika told the victim to clean his car before leaving for his work place.
“Upon reaching at his work place, the victim narrated the whole ordeal to his workmate who told other people around the area who in turn took the victim to police where medical report was issued to the victim and results proved that the victim was indeed sodomized,” she explained.
Machilika who comes from Salima Village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Khongoni in Lilongwe district will appear before court soon to answer a charge of sodomy and the offence attracts a maximum penalty of 14 years imprisonment with hard labour.
