LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Mchinji District Football League Sponsored by Joseph family to the tune of MK2 million is said to have reached the quarterfinal stage.
Thom Lemson, Mchinji District Football League Committee General Secretary, said they followed the format which was used by their mother body CRFA in Chipiku Premier division.
Eight teams have been drawn into two groups of four and they will play each other on home and away basis with the two top teams from the groups reaching the semifinals in which they will again play on home and away format to find the finalists.
The eight teams remaining in the league are as follows according to groups, A,Nanjiwa Select, Bua United,Mahempe FC,Mikundi Youth and Yellow Camp while group B has Mchereka FC,Mwase FC,Mpazi FC and Mkanda Pirates.
Lemson said the league has been so competitive from the time it started till this far. He then hailed the sponsors, Joseph Family, for the league saying it has helped nurturing hidden talents in the district.
Following the league as teams including Mwase FC,Mchereka and Yellow are displaying beautiful football which is giving their committee some hopes of having many representatives in Chipiku Premier division and Division one and even producing a good Superleague side.
The top eight games are expected to kick off on Saturday 1st January,2022 with the league projected to end in the first two weeks of February.
Apart from Joseph League in Mchinji,the other leagues which are still running in the central region are K2 million Saint Louis High School Dedza Football League and CRECK HARDWARE in Nkhotakota district which are expected to end in January, 2022.
