LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)–Goshen City Dedza Dynamos head coach Alex Ngwira has received a timely boost ahead of Saturday’s Castel Challenge Cup final against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
Ngwira was named MMM Sports Plus’s Coach of the Month for January — an honour the tactician described as a perfect morale boost on the afternoon of the historic final.
The award recognises his outstanding work with Goshen City Dedza Dynamos in the 2025 Castel Challenge Cup, having steered the Irish potato-growing district’s club to their first-ever cup final since the club’s establishment.
“This award could not have come at a better time. It will motivate me ahead of the final,” Ngwira said.
Dedza Dynamos beat Karonga United FC, Ekhaya FC, Creck Sporting Club, and Blue Eagles FC on their way to the final.
Ngwira was recognised alongside Blue Eagles’ Derklek Msakakuona, who won the December award, and Silver Strikers’ Peter Mgangira, who claimed the November honour.
Each of the three coaches received MK250,000 and a miniature trophy courtesy of MMM Sports Plus and Pyramid Construction.
MMM Sports Plus Commercial Director Alice Munthali and Pyramid Construction Managing Director Abel Chiumia presided over the awards ceremony on Friday morning in Lilongwe.
