BLANTYRE (Maravi Post)—Unbelievable! Mzuzu University FC on Sunday hammered one of Malawi’s football power houses—Be-Forward Wanderers , 4-2 right at the latter’s backyard, thus at Kamuzu Stadium.
Gift Zakazaka for Beforward opened the score sheet 5 minutes into the first half before Mzuni leveled the scores 14 minutes later through Frackson Chisi. The temple of the game changed with Mzuni FC scoring two goals through Henry Misinjo and Hudson Milanzi. When the teams were going for recess, it was Mzuni FC 3 and Mighty Wanderers 1.
Came second half, Mzuni FC was pressurized as Mighty Wanderers came wave after wave to force a draw and their efforts paid as Mzuni conceded a penalty which saw Peter Wadabwa scoring making it 3—2.
And few minutes later, Hudson Milanzi scored a stunner from a free-kick which Mzuni won—a goal of the tournament and a goal which veteran sports commentators, Steve Liwewe, Frank Kandu and Patrick Simango, confessed to have ever seen such kind of goal in their decade’s career in football commentary making it 4-2.
The dejected nomads as Wanderers FCis fondly called tried to reduce the margin but the resilent Mzuni FC made sure that they seal the victory in their last game of the first season of the TNM, Super League.
Mzuni FC Coach Alex Ngwira attributed the victory due the energy of his players who contained the less energetic and tired Wanderers players.
Wanderers Manager Steve Madeira was brave enough to give credit where it is due as he congratulated Mzuni FC for shamelessly defeating his side.
Elsewhere in Presidential Cup, Mangochi Police FC has booted out Super League side Wizards FC through post match penalties at MDC stadium in Blantyre.
