After many complaints the National Bank of Malawi has renewed its’ security certificate and the trust messages have now disappeared when it’s Banknet customers attempt to login in to their secure site to access their accounts.
Once you login the website is now displaying the message below to alert those still experiencing the message which is still affecting those that have catching issues with their preferred browsers and also a somewhat lame apology for the risk they exposed their online customers to:
“You may have been experiencing website certificate problems when accessing the Banknet Online. We are now pleased to advise that the problem has since been resolved and you may now access and transact without any problems.
If you experience further certificate problems when accessing the site, you may need to clear your Browser cache or contact us on +265 1 820 622 ext. 1221 or email ebu@natbankmw.com for further assistance.
The bank sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience this may have caused”.
However it should still be noted that their online support is still not up to standards. It is very rare that you get a prompt email response from the Bank.
Many customers have complained that the bank has a lot of unexplained charges and when queried they do not return emails.
Other customers have complained about lack of alerts to account activities by email or text especially those holding accounts in the Diaspora.
National Bank which claims to be the largest Bank in Malawi should take the lead in taking advantage of technology to provide adequate support and services to its customers.
We encourage readers who have experienced similar issues to email the Bank ebu@natbankmw.com
