NTCHEU-(MaraviPost)- Forty-seven year old MacDonald Chautsi is under police custody in the central district of Ntcheu for allegedly defiling his 13-year old epileptic step daughter.
The suspect, who is married to the girl’s mother, was arrested last year, on this at Jolijo village in the district.
Ntcheu Police station publicist Hastings Chigalu told The Maravi Post that on this fateful day, the girl’s mother left for church activities, and left her daughter behind, while the husband was away in the field.
However, Chautsi was the first to arrive home and he immediately instructed the step-daughter to go for a bath.
Chigalu said that she was later told by the suspect to follow him into the house, a thing which the unsuspecting girl did.
While in the house, the suspect defiled the girl and told her not to reveal this to anyone. But when the mother arrived back, the daughter told her mother; she later reported the matter to the Village Headman Tchauya and then to Police.
“Medical examination at Ntcheu District Hospital revealed that the girl was defiled. It is said that the girl has been defiled several times in the past.
“Chautsi, is also answering to murder charges and is on High Court bail, has been remanded to Ntcheu prison waiting to answer a case of defilement, which contravenes section 138 of the Penal Code,” said Chigalu.
The suspect Chautsi hails from Saidi village, Traditional Authority (T.A.) Kwataine in Ntcheu district.
