………..SILVER 2-0 CIVIL
By Edwin Mbewe
LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Central Bankers on Saturday, December 11, 2021 conducted an audit on Civil Servants’ account number one and found it wrongly debited hence freezed it for further auditing. At the same time the Bankers unsubscribed all Airtel money accounts belonging to Civil Servants to avoid them transferring the money.
It was an entertaining show at Bingu National Stadium but not as many anticipated, the bankers controlled the good part of the show whereby the Servants kept on chasing their own shadows.

The Servants looked inferior at the central midfield which Silver capitalized no wonder as at 10th minute Stain Davie slotted an opener after beautiful play from Zebron Kalima and Mark Fodya. First half ended Silver narrowly leading with a goal.
Alfred Kaphamtengo blew the whistle to begin the second half. This time Civil was still unable to adopt the heat from the bankers as Zebron Kalima, Mark Fodya, Frank “Fazala” Banda and Blessings Tembo continued piling pressure.
At 48th minute, Kalima who enjoyed the play at the left wing received a beautiful ball from Mark Fodya which he ran with it like a thief who has stolen a chicken towards Civil Service defence. Then the promising upcoming winger made a trick like passing the ball and shot it to the near post where Tione Tembo Civil goalie was standing, Tembo couldn’t do anything but standing in disbelief as one who has lost his only money from a pocket.
At 61st minute Franco Ndawa made triple changes; Jaffalie Chande, Christopher Kumwembe and Chikondi Maloya replacing Henry Msowoya, Timothy Silwimba and Innocent Tanganyika while Silver Strikers introduced Maxwell Phodo for Blessings Tembo. The changes for Civil did not work out the way they thought as still they were inferior on the ball. Maxwell Phodo changed the tempo of the game as they continued attacking so aggressively, but Stain Davie and Phodo missed some opportunities.
Daniel Kabwe made another substitution at 80th minute with an aim of playing containment game. Innocent Shema, Herbert Wayekha and Prince Phiri were introduced for Frank Banda, Patrick Macheso, Mike Robert while Civil brought in Charles White for Damiano Kunje. Few minutes later Kamphamtengo blew the whistle marking the end of the match, the confirmation of Silver Strikers FC reaching the finals of the Airtel Top 8 race for the third time ready for confrontation with Nyasa Big Bullets. Zebron Kalima was finally voted man of the match.
After the game MacDonald Yobe, Silver Strikers FC Assistant coach hailed his boys for the win saying they played according to their plan.
Yobe said he told them to score early goals of which they did.
He further added that they are going to prepare for the finals against Nyasa Big Bullets as they prepare for any crucial game.
Civil Service Coach Franco Ndawa said it was a painful defeat in the hands of their city arch-rivals but acknowledged they did not play as a team hence the result was a true reflection of the ground works.
Silver Strikers who are the defending champions of the Airtel Top 8 will battle it out against Nyasa Big Bullets on December 18, 2021.
