LILONGWE (Maravipost): In line with the incident that occurred in lower Shire involving presidential convoy, Six people have been arrested after injuring three police officers who were on convoy with Chakwera in Chikwawa.
The six are John Dumba,35, Solomon Napala 30,Khama Matiki,40, both from Phuka Village in Thyolo and Madalitso Josephy 19,Rachel Patrick ,25,and funsani Thepelo 23 both from Mkhira District in Chikwawa district.
Minister of Homeland security, Zikhale Ng’oma disclosed this on Tuesday 24 September during a media briefing.

According to the Ng’oma the three who were injured are sergeant Maeso Maini 32 from kasambwe village Traditional Authority (T/A) Mwambo from Zomba District, Constable Chifisi 29,from Nkhotakota village TA Kalalo and constable Alinafe Chilenje ,24, from Chikalolere village T/A Kachindamoto in Dedza District.
Ng’oma said on the night of 18 to 19 September the ministry conducted the investigation which led to the arrest of six people.
He said Malawi is known as peace and God-fearing nation as such his ministry implore to the general public to be Peaceful especially as the country is heading towards general elections.
He strongly condemned the lower Shire incident as tampering with presidential convoy is a sacred and an offence punishable by the country’s law.
He therefore said his ministry in collaboration with the Malawi police service will work tirelessly to ensure those involved in the malpractice are brought to book.
