Z Allan Ntata unfazed by his detractors, promises open letters to APM

Allan Ntata who helped destroy Joyce Banda by using Social media in support of his beloved DPP, has of late started pointing his guns at the Peter Mutharika administration and what he perceives as its short falls.

Defenders of the DPP and the administration accuse him of sour grapes. They claim he does not like to be side lined.

Last week end Raphael Tenthani dedicated a column to Allan where he wrote “After a brief hiatus, the lawyer-cum-political strategist is back on social media, this time as a guy with a lot of issue on his mind and lots of scores to settle. If you are not a social media buff, Ntata’s first bomb on Facebook was to complain loudly that one or two individuals he did not name have ‘ring-fenced’ President Peter Mutharika”

Allan Ntata has his detractors and supporters. One of his supporters is popularly known as Wise one from the East who wrote a favourable article in support of Allan.

“Ntata is – thanks to those who would bring him down – evolving from a mere social media operator to a present day ‘Robin Hood’; loved and loathed with equal intensity, depending on the side of the fence one is standing. Once can safely say: the best of Ntata is yet to come and in the shoes of his cynics, I would be worried. Why?” wrote Wise One from the East in support.

However as the critism of his writings have started building momentum Ntata remains unfazed and wrote the following in response:

“Just in case you’re wondering, I do not respond to personal attacks and I have no interest in engaging in character debates. This is the reason why I will never respond to comments that attack me personally.

I know, however, that what I post here are my views and can be challenged. I enjoy and welcome comments that challenge the content and substance of my posts. My views concern Malawi’s Present and Future, drawing some lessons from its past. I believe that a healthy debate about this will help our country move forward.

With regards to the open letters to APM that I will begin publishing next week, they fall into the same category. They will be MY views on what is going wrong with our country and what the APM administration can do about it. I am amazed that some interesting characters have already began to defend against them even before I have posted the first one! And of course I can already write the defence since it’s now well known: – Ntata is frustrated and a coward. Well, there are many that are beginning to realise that this is simply not the case, so I will leave that to posterity to judge.

I am writing my open letters to APM as one of many Malawians concerned about the future of our country, and having some views on how its governance can be improved. I know what the haters will say, but I am more interested and looking forward to the comments from the open minded ones on the contents of those letters. REFORMATION FOR TRANSFORMATION!”

I expect many of us are waiting with anticipation as where this will lead next. The DPP should understand that Ntata understands the power of social media. Just ask former President Joyce Banda.
