KARONGA-(MaraviPost)-FCB Nyasa Big Bullets secured their first victory of the league season, after earning a commanding 3-0 over Chitipa united in a thrilling match at Karonga Stadium on Sunday.
Goals from Babatudi Adepoju, Ephraim Kondowe, and Patrick Mwaungulu sealed the win for the reigning champions on the 3rd attempt of asking after drawing their opening two league fixtures.
The encounter began with Chitipa United making a strong start, forcing the away side into their half and creating several goal-scoring opportunities through the inform Sitimela Muyila.
However, after a slow start, the visitors gradually took control of the game and dominated the home side. Adepoju opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a cool finish after being set up by Mwaungulu.
The second goal arrived in the 78th minute through substitute Kondowe who set up Mwaungulu for the third strike three minutes later.
In a post-match interview, Chitipa United coach McNebort Kazuwa admitted his team was second best in the encounter.
“We didn’t play that badly but Bullets used their experience and utilized the chances they had and we did not,” he said.
However, his counterpart Kalisto Pasuwa of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets hailed his side for a fantastic performance.
“We were superb today throughout the game and the win by such a huge margin was well deserved,” he stated.
The victory sees FCB Nyasa Big Bullets move to five points from three matches, while Chitipa United remain on three points.
