Lately Saulos Chilima has reduced himself to making threats, promises and accusations of that make him sound desperate and clueless. he has spoken ill of Bakili Muluzi father to Atupele Muluzi.
Saulos Chilima claimed former president Bakili Muluzi was behind the assault of UTM Party patron, Salule Masangwi and Eastern Region UTM Governor, Alihaj Sande who were attacked.
He also claimed that the former president also threatened to deal with him for allegedly talking about his political ills at the podium.
He made the remarks Sunday at Mzuzu Upper Stadium during the first mega rally of Tonse Alliance which has nine political parties including Malawi Congress Party (MCP), UTM, Peoples Party (PP) and Freedom Party, among others.
Lately he threatened to take DPP and President Peter to the ICC making himself look childish and very amateurism showing he lack of understanding of the ICC.
Making matters worse threatened on the campaign trail he ordered his bodyguards to shoot innocent by standers.
On the other hand, his opposite Atupele Muluzi has seemed more suitable for the post of Vice President. Attracting huge crowds on the campaign trail and making statements that show his intelligence.
It is vital that we establish the National Peace Commission – a forum of respected eminent Malawians to allow us to come together, air our grievances and seek resolutions. The current discourse in the country both on social media and political podiums is severe. It needs to be mended by clear leadership and brave voices.
There also needs to be a way for independent investigations into the most serious incidents.
On the violence in the country Atupele Muluzi wrote the following:
The violence we are witnessing in the country needs to be tackled soberly and not as an isolated incident.
We have witnessed the radicalization of the youth in the post-election period and all stakeholders turned a deaf ear to the Osaopa and angry mantra, which in the end was institutionalized in Nsundwe.
We have nurtured a fearless and angry youth and the chickens are coming home to roost. The press is complicit as the opposition supporters are branded angry Malawians and their violent actions go without condemnation from most stakeholders.
The press covered the entire post-election period violence as angry Malawians as to give credence to their violent actions.
We should call upon all stakeholders to desist from allegations which are not before the prosecuting authorities as these inflame hatred and resentment. We must desist from making inflammatory and hate speeches. I condemn violence in the strongest terms and ask politicians and all stakeholders to exercise restraint.
On Saulos Chilima’s killing of innocent bystanders, Atupele said the following
I have further information with regards to what transpired in Machinga today. As much as the incident is unfortunate, live ammunition should never be used on the population. A women and child were shot at today. Wishing them both a speedy recovery.
Who appears to be led to lead? Chilima or Atupele?
Chilima has lost a lot if support because of his threats and militant attacks
It is now confirmed that no live ammunition was used in Machinga. Thugs hurt themselves while running away from tear gas as reported by MIJ radio and analysing the foto of the injured woman one can clearly see scratches in her face proving that she fell down while running away from tear gas. Lazy journalism is bad for our country please verify reports before yoh muddle yourself in partisan reporting. A school dropout like Atupele can and will never outshine Chilima. If DPP-UDF alliance a good week let them set the date of voting. Atupele is a baby who is riding on his fathers back while Chilima is a man himself. Everything he has got it through hardwork unlike Atupele whose father is a proven thief who stole billions of kwachas meant for the poor.
