LILONGWE-(Maravi Post)-FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 Airtel Top 8 after edging out Creck Sporting Club 1-0 in the second leg of their quarterfinal match.
The match played on Saturday at Nakhaka stadium in Lilongwe.
A lone goal scored by Maxwell Gasten Phodo sent the defending champions into the semifinals.
Creck Sporting Club head coach Joseph Kamwendo expressed disappointment with the result, saying, “We tried, but we didn’t get a goal. We will keep working hard in order to start getting best results.”
On the other hand, Bullets head coach Peter Mponda was pleased with the victory, despite acknowledging that his team didn’t play according to plan.
“We didn’t play as we planned, but we managed to win the game,” Mponda said.
Gasten Phodo’s goal earned him the Man of the Match award. The first leg between Bullets and Creck ended goalless, making Phodo’s goal the decisive factor in Bullets’ advancement.
Bullets will now face the winner of the match between Civo and Mzuzu City Hammers in the semifinals. The team will look to build on their momentum and defend their title.
