Central region soccer body, St Louis renew wedding vows

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-After waiting for almost two months since St Louis High School Dedza District Football league 2021 season ended, Lobi Young Soccer received their prizes as champions on Saturday 20th August, 2022.

The Prize Presentation Ceremony which took place at Lobi Kayinga Primary School in Dedza District was attended by representatives of the sponsors St Louis High School, CRFA and Dedza District Football League Association.

Lobi Young Soccer received MK400,000,Trophy and medals for being Champions.

Thete United FC went home with MK200,000 and medals for second spot finish while Dedza Eagles FC took home money amounting to MK100,000, plus match ball.

John Mchema of Lobi Young Soccer received MK20,000 with a trophy for the golden boot accolade after scoring 50 goals while Jack Chitenje of Thete United received player of the tournament award and went home with K20,000.

However both CRFA and Dedza District Football League Committee were over the moon when the representative of the Sponsors at the function Peter Msukwa announced that they are renewing their marriage vows by continuing sponsoring the league and that they have adjusted the package from MK2 million to MK3 million.

Announcing the good news Msukwa said they are committed in implementing government effort of developing the sport in the country.

“This is the only way to prevent these youths from indulging into bad behaviors hence encouraging them to concentrate on their education.We have decided to adjust the package after looking at the impact of devaluation at the same time we are pleased with the way the league has been managed by Dedza District League Committee”,

“We are continuing sponsoring the league because we want to pay back the support the people of Dedza are giving to our School. Let me hail the Dedza District League Committee for the good patronage”,Msukwa said.

Antonio Manda, CRFA vice General Secretary who represented Austin Biton Ajawa, the Chairman, said the association is excited for Dedza District football development.

He therefore hailed St Louis High School for the continued support towards the development of football in the district.

Manda appealed to Dedza District Football Association to continue running the league in a professional manner so that they safeguard the sponsorship.

CRFA and St Louis High School signed a one year contract for Dedza District Football League Sponsorship in September, 2021.
