MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Members of the Citizen for Transformation (CFT) Movement are calling on their leader, Timothy Mtambo, to consider collaborating with the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to drive the country forward.

Kinear Mlowoka, CFT’s deputy leader, made the appeal during a press conference in Mzuzu, highlighting the potential benefits of working together with MCP, particularly under the leadership of Vitumbiko Mumba.

Mlowoka emphasized that this partnership would be instrumental in advancing the nation’s development.

The CFT deputy leader also expressed dissatisfaction with the current alliance between CFT and the Alliance For Democracy (AFORD) party, led by Enoch Chihana, in conjunction with the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). According to Mlowoka, this alliance no longer serves the interests of CFT members.

The proposed partnership with MCP is seen as a strategic move, given the party’s influence and initiatives aimed at national progress.

MCP has been actively engaging citizens and promoting development projects across the country.

Richard Chimwendo Banda, MCP’s secretary-general, recently rallied support for President Lazarus Chakwera’s re-election bid, emphasizing the importance of voter turnout.

Timothy Mtambo, known for his dynamic leadership and advocacy for transformation, has previously demonstrated openness to collaborations that promote Malawi’s development.

As the leader of CFT, his decision to partner with MCP could significantly impact the country’s political landscape.
