MZIMBA-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) is today Tuesday, July 22, 2025 making waves in the Northern Region as it officially launches its regional manifesto at the newly constructed Mzimba Stadium, in an event marked by excitement, pride, and policy direction.
In attendance is MCP President Lazarus Chakwera alongside Catherine Gotani Hara, the party’s Vice President and Speaker of the National Assembly, who hails from the north.
Her presence adds symbolic weight to the event, reaffirming the region’s vital role in the party’s vision for Malawi.
Coming shortly after the Central Region launch, today’s event reflects MCP’s commitment to inclusive development across all regions, ensuring that the north is not left behind in the country’s political and economic roadmap.
The choice of Mzimba Stadium as the venue not only showcases the area’s growing importance, but also sends a strong message that development should reach every corner of Malawi, not just the major cities.
With thousands in attendance, the atmosphere is electric—party colors flying high, local artists performing, and policy promises being laid out, particularly in areas such as education, infrastructure, agriculture, health services, and job creation, tailored for the needs of the north.
“This is not just a political rally,” said one speaker. “This is about bringing the vision closer to the people.”
The MCP continues to show that its 2025 campaign is not about empty promises—but practical, people-focused solutions built with every region in mind.
Mzimba today is not just hosting an event—it is standing at the center of a national conversation about progress, equity, and the future.
