LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera has described Lumbadzi as an important growing center that is strategically placed to serve people from both Dowa and Lilongwe and as such, requires heavy investments in amenities.
“We have plans to establish good water connections, improve health facilities, construct good schools to provide quality education so that Lumbadzi has all the services it requires as a growing center,” said Chakwera.
The President made the remarks Friday at Lumbadzi during a whistle stop he is conducting in Dowa East.
Chakwera said he is also committed to ensure completion of the M1 road to ensure trading centres like Lumbadzi thrive.
He however, but said major trading centers like Lumbadzi require special attention and therefore, could cause some delays.
“But there are some points like trading centres which require special attention because there are a lot of things involved that need to be addressed.
“At some points, there are also bridges being constructed. But this does not mean the works have stalled, no, everything is on track and soon all the work will be completed,” said Chakwera, who launched the rehabilitation of the M1 road in July 2022 at Mtiti in Dowa.
MCP shadow parliamentarian for Lumbadzi constituency Denis Chalera said as a new constituency, people would like to welcome the constituency by unanimously voting for Chakwera.
