Comrade Mugabe no show to Welcome Guinean leader Theodore Obiang Nguema Mbasogo

1 Min Read

President Robert Mugabe was a no show to ‘welcome’ into Zimbabwe the Equatorial Guinean leader, Theodore Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, who arrived today for a state visit.

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe’s flight back home after his Christmas and New Year break was delayed in Dubai resulting in a ‘no-show’ for the welcoming party waiting for his return at the Harare International Airport.

Characteristically, Mr Obiang – Africa’s longest-serving leader – was welcomed with a garland of flowers and traditional dancers.

The current situation of Robert Mugabe’s inability to return home as planned, increases speculation about his health. Political watchers believe the nonagenarian’s health was what prompted most journalists to throng the airport to see Mr. Mugabe.
