Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, mother to Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo, has been rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke, the UK Mirror reports.
Ronaldo has flown to Madeira to be with her, after she was admitted to Dr Nelio Mendonca Hospital on Tuesday morning.
She is reportedly conscious and stable
However, Dolores will undergo new tests later in the day, to determine her state of health.
Last year, she admitted she was fighting for her life after a new cancer drama.
Dolores was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007.
Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has spoken for the first time since report emerged his mother, Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, was rushed to hospital after reportedly suffering a stroke.
Ronaldo flew back to Madeira to be with his mum on Tuesday, after she was admitted to Dr. Nelio Mendonca Hospital.
The Portugal captain later tweeted: Thank you for all your messages of support for my mum. She is currently stable and recovering in hospital.
Me and my family would like to thank the medical team looking after her, and kindly ask that we are all given some privacy at this time.
Dolores previously beat breast cancer, after she was diagnosed with the disease in 2007.
She is believed to have suffered an ischemic stroke, which is the most common type.
