#Cyclone Freddy response: Sapitwa International School learners donate to survivors

Sapitwa learners donating to survivors

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Learners from Sapitwa International School on Thursday, March 23, 2023 donated assorted relief items to children affected by Cyclone Freddy.

Representing the learners, Bethany Karan Kaliba said it is sad to see that they are attending classes physically whilst their fellow kids are not going to school.

On her part Juliet Sango, Principal of Sapitwa International School said it was the institution duty to teach their learners the tenents of humanity.

“As leaders, our duty is not only teaching students to excel academically, but also in humanity and empathy.

The donated relief items included blankets, shoes, and stationery.

In his remarks Director of Preparedness and Response in the Department of Disaster management Affairs (DoDMA), Moses Chimphepo thanked the school for always providing support to people affected by cyclones.

“Let me take this opportunity to appeal to other schools to emulate what Sapitwa International School has done,” said Chimphepo.
