BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leadership succession is taking a nasty direction with spies planted in all camps vying for presidency after the incumbent Peter Mutharika.
With the leaked memo search analysis available to this publication, reveals that not all is well in DPP.
In the memo sourced on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 reveals that DPP Mwanza West constituency lawmaker Joyce Chitsulo is behind President Peter Mutharika’s political advisor Francis Mphepo’s leaked meeting audio that has caused public upheaval.
Following the leaked audio deemed to have elements of nepotism in DPP leadership, the party is not happy with the conduct of Chitsulo.
The female lawmaker has been therefore labeled as “traitor” in the party by trying buy sympathy from one camp vying for presidency.
The analysis of the bivariate correlation between how fake a story is & people’s negative perception of DPP reveal all positive figures. This means that the faker the story, the darker the perceived DPP image.
“Francis Mphepo, APM’s political advisor, was recorded in a meeting by Honorable Joyce Chitsulo, MP for Mwanza Thambani (Mwanza West). Our research findings reveal that sometime in December 2019. She met opposition parties and inside DPP camp vying for presidency struck a deal with him. Privy to the information revealed that as part of the deal, Hon. Chitsulo is meant to be leaking information to opposition party and at the same time championing the camp’s saga in DPP- hence her recording of the meeting.
“It’s why she hasn’t publicly defected yet, to keep sitting in high level meetings. What a snake. You can even hear her at the end of the audio clip responding in the affirmative. Just a fake response,” reads part of the search Memo.
It adds, “When opposition party social media operatives got hold of the Francis Mphepo they went to town with it. Twisting what was said. If you’ve listened to the recording you can agree that Mphepo never said “Let’s withdraw development projects from the north’’ nor does he say the President intends to do that. Those pushing this narrative are riding on the hate some people have for DPP that makes them believe anything negative about the party”.
The opposition uses party members whose loyalty is questionable like Hon. Joyce Chitsulo to tarnish DPP’s image.
This is a systematic attack on DPP to tarnish its image after failure to cause death during demos. Haven’t you all wondered why EVERY SINGLE demo ends in looting and destruction of both public and private property?
The aim is to force governments hand to respond with excessive force that ends in people dying.
When this failed, they switched to the anti-quota movement which the government addressed. Malawi is now using a merit based system.
Which brings us back to the issue at hand. The bone of contention is the pending retirement of the Chief Justice, Jutice Nyirenda, where the successor is not from the North and it has not gone well with some tribalistic people seeing as the judiciary is using MDF.
What we need to ask ourselves is this: If DPP was partisan would General Nundwe have been elevated to Army General?
In fact Nundwe had already presented his retirement letter the time he was promoted & was on month to month but the Commander in Chief President never agreed.
Why is Ralph Kasambara a free man when Pika Manondo still in prison for the same crime?
Is it because Ralph Kasambara is from Thyolo and Pika Manondo is from Chitipa whereas Judge Mwaungulu is from Phalombe?
There was no immediate reaction from lawmaker Chitsulo on the matter.
Opposition parties have condemned Mphepo’s remarks arguing that developmental agenda is for all Malawians not a particular tribe, region or individuals.
