LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Three regional teams; Extreme FC ,Kawinga FC and Kadona Stars have qualified in the round of 16 of FDH Bank Cup Pachema after winning their round of 32 games.
Kawinga FC who plays in the Central Region Football Association Chipiku Premier division league, knocked out Chintheche United from Nkhatabay by a goal to nil in a highly contested match at Civo Stadium in the capital Lilongwe in a match which started at 1200 noon. Chisomo Hiwa Scored the lone goal at 45th minute in the first half.

Extremes’ qualification into the round 16 was decided through post match penalties at Civo Stadium after regulation time ended teams sharing spoils 1 all.
The visitors from Chilomoni,in the commercial City of Blantyre took a lead barely 2 minutes into the game through Justice Mahilasi before Extreme FC levelled the matters 8 minutes later through Chifundo George.
After these goals,the two sides kept pushing and pressing as they searched for the winning goals but nothing materialized. Recess whistle came with the two tied at 1 goal a piece.
Second half was also a highly contested as the teams continued attacking each other in search of goals,former Blue Eagles FC player Brian Msumatiza was a marvel to watch to Extreme FC side.Shadreck Masina Waliranji based side coach made some changes,taking off goalie Mphatso Fulawo and Emmanuel Mbwezo for Francis Black and Blessings Juma while the Boyz substituted McDonald Ajida and Chikondi Kumwenda for Anthony Phiri and Christopher Thyangathyanga.
However the changes didn’t bring any goals to either sides until the last whistle came,and yes let it be known to the world that the fate of Extreme FC and the Boyz was decided through post match penalties 4-1.
Limbani Landinyo,Chifundo George, Justice Honde and Gift Daniel converted their penalties for the host Extreme while Frank Malingamoyo scored the penalty for the Boyz while Mike Kalema and Anthony Phiri missed.
Coach Shadreck Masina for Extreme was delighted with the win while acknowledging The Boyz gave them a good run,he then vowed to continue working hard and prepare well in their round of 16 game.
While Ephraim Nkhwanzi assistant coach for the Boyz said it was a difficult game and was a 50-50 affair, he added they will put much emphasis on Thumbs Up league as they aim promotion into the elite league.
In Blantyre at Mpira Stadium Kadona Stars and Immigration played to a goalless draw at regulation. Kadona Stars emerged victors through post match penalties 5-4 , Patrick Mponda, Chasemore,Chimwemwe Ibrahim and Haswell Chiwaya scored for Immigration while Innocent Kachingwe and Haroon Yusuf missed theirs.
Blessings Kabotolo,Symon Ngoma,Bonface Jambo,Davison Mbewe and John Kazembe converted for Kadona Stars while Robert Mhango missed.
Extreme FC, Kawinga FC have booked themselves a place in the round of 16 from CRFA defeating Chintheche United and The Boyz from NRFA and SRFA leagues respectively. Kadona also registered and opened account with FDH Bank.
8 more regional teams are anticipated to fight for their place in the round 16 as they face Super league teams,Chitipa United against TN Stars, Changalume Barracks versus MAFCO FC, Kamuzu Barracks FC host MDF Marine,
Airborne Rangers FC invites Ekwendeni Hammers,Civil Service United host Baka City while Karonga United will play Iponga and Moyale Barracks FC play Ngwanje FC with Red Lions playing Zomba Airbase FC.
