Government Would like to announce death of Senior Chief Makhwira of Chikwawa District

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development regrets to inform the Public of the demise of Senior Chief Makhwira of Chikwawa District.

Born Daines Giliyesi Chiputula, Senior Chief Makhwira, died in the morning hours of 29 February 2020.

Senior Chief Makhwira died at Queen Elizabeth hospital after suffering from Diabetes.

The Senior Chief was born on 28 May 1928. He was installed as Traditional Authority Makhwira on 7 May 1994 and was elevated to Senior Chief on 17 July 2018.

Burial of the Senior Chief will take place on Monday, 2 March 2020 at his Ngwengwe headquarters in Chikhwawa
