LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera has been caught lying to the nation following following the deployment of his daughter, Violet Chakwera, to Malawi’s diplomatic mission in the UK.
This publication understand that Violet has reported at the London mission office as first secretary responsible for investments, contrary to Chakwera’s rebuttal last year that his daughter was not going to any foreign mission.
At that time, reports were rife that the President’s daughter was earmarked for a diplomatic posting in Brussels, Belgium.
The latest development has attracted fierce public criticism with some questioning her attributes, and qualifications for the job.
This comes a few months after Chakwera denied heaven and earth on BBC Straight Talk that his daughter would be joining any diplomatic mission.
Reacting to the development, Mzuzu based political commentator George Phiri, reminds Chakwera that every word he utters as President should be regarded as a policy issue, hence the need for him to live by the same.
There was no immediate comment from State House and foreign affairs authorities despite numerous attempts to solicit the same.
