LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Liars? The International Olympic Committee (IOC) says is not funding the contested Malawi’s MK9 billion Swimming pool project.
The revelation comes after Wilson Khembo, a Malawian national based in United Kingdom wrote to the OIC inquiring about the organization’s involvement in the project.
In an email which social media commentator and renown journalist Joshua Chisa Mbele and Idriss Ali Nassah respectively sourced answering Khembo IOC says, “The organization is not involved in the construction of the Swimming pool in Lilongwe”.
This after a week Sports Minister Ulemu Msungama defended the project saying IOC was the one funding the swimming poor not Malawi government.
Echoing on the same, Tonse government main shareholder Malawi Congress Party (MCP)’s deputy publicity secretary Ezekiel Ching’oma vigorously mentioned IOC as sponsored to the project.
On his social media comment runt, Mbele irritates, ” Olympic Swimming Pool Scandal I have a feeling. Premonition. Boma iri by the end of 5 years, most Ministers, PS, & their accomplices will be behind bars. If this is the trend, then fellow Malawians, we are in big trouble.Words & Actions don’t match.Looting exposed. Apa palije Visamani. Sindinatchule munthu. Ndawala pa Town Ine Ndwiiii.
“There we go. There we go. Government told a blatant lie regarding the MK9.5 billion funding of Swimming Pool.Only Yesterday I said Most Malawians DON’T TRUST this Administration. That gives you the reason why we must AUDIT MK17.5 billion. We will engage outside Auditors. Not NAO. Very sad.”
Onjezani Kenani adds, “Thanks to son of the soil, Wilson Khembo. After we were told by the propaganda machinery that the K9 billion swimming pool will be built with funds from the International Olympics Committee, Mr. Khembo wrote IOC to verify. The attached response from the IOC says the organization is not involved in this project or its funding. Why feed us lies like this?”
Msungama and Ching’oma are yet to come up with another defence over IOC rebuff to the project as to where Tonse government has sourced the funds for swimming pool.
