MZUZU (Maravi Post)—One of the buses belonging to Trans-Rukuru in Mzuzu has been burnt into ashes, Maravipost has established. The sad development happened on Thursday around 9 am at Mzuzu Bus terminal.
According to our source, unidentified mad person within the city is behind the cause.
“The mad person entered the bus with fire in the mud stove (mbaula) without the knowledge of the owner. We just saw a cloud of smoke and fire before the mad person ran,” said our source.
“We managed to put it down but to no avail and the fire fighter failed to respond in time. However, nobody has been affected,” they added.
Our source further said that the bus did not have anything inside.
The owners of the bus and/or the police are yet to issue a comment on the matter.
Fire recently also gutted down shops in the capital Lilongwe.
