LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)- Musician Ho Wokire, in his new single Ukhondo, released on Monday, March 15, 2020 , has taken a swipe on the respiratory continued global outbreak of the deadly disease Coronavirus or Covid-19 for promoting awareness to people on the defensive methods.
In the song, which was announced on social media, carries messages that will help people across the continent to become skilled at the precautionary methods.
Speaking in an interview, Ho Wokire said the song is about alerting the populace to stay alert about the Covid-19 disease by ensuring that they are observing hygienic habits.
“The song has the message on what people are expected to do to make certain from unhygienic infections especially now that we have Covid-19, conversely, they will be reminded of the critical times as they need to wash hands with soap thoroughly,” Ho Wokire says.
Ho Wokire said he recorded the song a year ago during the WASH Project but did not release it.
“I recorded this song a year ago during the WASH Project but did not release it but now that we have this pandemic disease I decided to release it for people across the continent to listen to it.
“I also wanted Malawians to listen to the message now that we do not have reported cases of Covid-19 to take hold of the message so that they must be aware or must be ready to act in future when the virus crop up,” Ho Wokire said.
The song has been released online in order to reach out to extra people extensively to have access to the song, consequently; when the song was released, different media houses already started air playing it.
