MCP Youths

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Leader of opposition in Malawi Parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa on Friday, March 26, 2021 called on Defence and security Committee to investigate the alleged fire arm training of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) youths at Mtakataka Police training school in Dedza.

Nankhumwa however cautioned Tonse government to trade carefully on the exporting of Maize saying government should stop painting a picture of bumper yield when there is looming hunger in some districts.

He has further cautioned government to review its decision of moving some offices such as Immigration, Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) from Blantyre to Lilongwe saying this may take away life from the Commercial City.

In his adjournment remarks, Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda has told off Nankhumwa that there is nothing wrong in training security officers.

Chimwendo however challenged him to send the investigation team to Mtakataka even tomorrow to prove his allegations.

He has also told Nankhumwa that the decision to move MRA and Immigration to Lilongwe was Late Bingu Wa Muntharika’s decision.

Chimwendo added that he sympathizes with Nankhumwa on the Challenges he is facing in DPP, he urged him to continue praying for the challenges to end.

On the house’s business, Chimwendo said parliament tabled 10 Ministerial statements and approved 2 bills.

He adds that parliament passed the Midyear budget, 89 questions from legislators to ministers and eight committee reports where seven were adopted.
